JUDGE RUTH RECEIVES THREE-YEAR FEDERAL GRANT TO REPLICATE HER PROBLEM-SOLVING COURT

Raleigh - The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) has selected Judge Kristin Ruth's problem-solving court in Wake County to replicate as a national model for family courts hearing child support cases. The three-year grant will allow Judge Ruth to provide innovative judicial education and to oversee further data analysis of problem-solving court sanctions. This Special Improvement Project (SIP) is one of only four SIP grants awarded in 2008 to focus on collaborations between child support enforcement and the courts.

Judge Kristin Ruth to Run for NC Court of Appeals

Cary/New Hill - Judge Kristin Ruth has begun her run for the NC Court of Appeals, with a planned kickoff event at the historic Guess Ogle House in Cary. The kickoff will be hosted by Cary businesswoman Sheila Ogle. Judge Ruth is running for the seat presently held by Judge John Tyson, and she intends to participate in the Public Campaign Finance system.
